Does My Current Policy Cover Me if I am Driving a Vehicle that's Not Mine?

I'm taking out a insurance policy on my car, but with my insurance policy i also wanted to be able to drive other cars if required to or in need of an emergancy, the one insurance company i have spoken to have said that this is not possible, so does this mean that i need to take out a seperate policy or look else where for someone to insure me?Regards

Answer:

Most often a single policy will cover you, though that will depend from agent to agent. You may wish to consider a Travelers insurance policy as this will most often cover you when you are piloting a vehicle other than your own.
